When I still lived in Connecticut, I was helping my friend decorate her living room. She had the overall vision and I just helped her with some decisions on furniture, paint, fabric, etc. Over the past year, she has made progress and while it certainly is not finished (still no window treatments), she is really happy with the results.
Before:
When we initially started talking about her living room, I drafted up this mood board to help give her a visual. I obviously need help with creating mood boards, but you get the point! :)
She definitely wanted a formal feel, but with two children, two dogs and a cat, she wanted it to be livable too.
After (still in progress):
Things still to do: install window treatments, put a small rug to layer over seagrass, find a pillow for chair roll arm chair (pictured below) and find a lamp for the bar cart (not shown).
My friend had all her existing artwork and she has been really creative moving it around to find the perfect home for each piece.
Sorry for the blurry pictures. I literally took these during my last visit to her home. :( This chair is one of my favorite pieces in her room! If you'd like to see the other posts on her LR, see
